AMAZING Stop Motion Shows Evolution Of Earth From Big Bang To Nuclear Apocalypse

Coincidentally enough I had a conversation with someone yesterday about space, time, the 'big bang theory', and the origins of man...

...now here with the answers is... painter/stop-motion animator Blu with his new short film "BIG BANG BIG BOOM", a 10-minute "moving" painting showing the evolution of the earth, from big bang to eventual nuclear destruction. Did I mention there were several minutes of dinosaurs? *zipping pants* Because there were. RAWR! God, I can't even imagine how much paint the whole thing required. Gallons. Somebody got approved for a Home Depot credit card! (Buy me a chainsaw)

Old Spice Man responds to comments all over the net.

These are brilliant. The writing is awesome, but it's the performance that makes it. Love it! Here's a sampling:

So, I believe what he's saying is that if I rub Old Spice Body wash all over myself, I'll get pecs and abs. I'm in.

On a side note, this whole thing reminds me a bit of Strongbad emails. I think the two of them should team up. That would be... awesome.

GORILLAZ: Animated Music Videos, And More!

So ever since the Gorillaz's first music video ("Clint Eastwood" 2001), I've been a big fan of both the Gorillaz animated music videos, and the London, England animation production studio that made them Passion Pictures.

Now, from the creators Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett's multimedia creation Gorillaz is back, bigger and higher tech than ever before. The funky blend of 2D and 3D cartoon animation that initially gave rise to the Gorillaz has now joined life-action.  Enjoy!

Journey to Plastic Beach:
Directed by Pete Candeland and Jamie Hewlett at Passion Pictures.
To kick off their UK and European tour, bass guitarist and band-leader Murdoc narrates this part-animated, part-real world film which is well worth the 15+ minute watch for fans of the band.

Watch this video now:

Stylo:
Gorillaz’ “Stylo” has a bit of awesome for everyone: the hybrid animated/live action music video features an Camaro/El Camino car chase, sprinkle donuts, the grim reaper, and Bruce Willis.

  Watch this video now:

On Melancholy Hill:
Jamie Hewlett’s video for Gorillaz hit iTunes (6/15), and not only is it a catchy tune, it’s got guns, bombs, a one-eyed octopus, a sinking ship and a sub that looks like a shark. Here’s a tease.

Robot Footballers – extreme football, action and science fiction idents

CREATION OF THE UEFU EURO 2008s CAMPAIGN

Ok, so some of these have been around the block, as well as sitting on my list for ages, but still no less fun and impressive.  TV Network Cuatro commissioned Barcelona, Spain-based, audio-visual specialists, Kotoc to make the idents for the UEFA Euro 2008 promotional pieces, with the following inputs: robots, football and superheroes.  With these premises, the creative teams from Kotoc and Cuatro, created a campaign consisting of small sequences in which extreme football, action and science fiction merge.

Coinciding with the feature film premiere of Iron Man, after 3 months of both creative and production work, this is the result.

Nominated at PROMAX'2009.
LAUS Nomination 2009.

... and yesterday I posted Patrick Boivin's short film At-AT Day Afternoon with which I think Boivin may have outdone his previous shorts.

The short film, At-AT Day Afternoon, replaced a normal dog with a vintage Star Wars AT-AT toy, which with the magic of stop-motion animation and computer compositing effects, comes alive.  The video quickly went viral, and spread around the internet clocking in over a million views so far.  Now Boivin has released a "making-of" video showing how he created the short film --- Enjoy!

Pixar Film Remixes

What do you get when you mix vocals and chords recorded from a Pixar film, some extra cymbals and a sine wave bass? 'Toyz Noize' and 'Uplular' are two Pixar film remixes from electronic music Australian producer Pogo.

Enjoy!

Toyz Noize:
Based on Pixar's "Toy Story"
Quote: "This is falling with style"

Uplular:
Based on Pixar's "Up"

Its hard to watch these just once... the the music and visuals flow so well together, with their own little narrative story, I find myself drawn in every time, their somewhat hypnotizing, and even leave you longing to play them again once they are done (:

LOL! This is great (:

Another one from French Canadian autodidact director Patrick Boivin, quote, "When I was a kid, there are two things I wanted badly and never got... A real dog and a Kenner AT-AT Walker" (Alla Star Wars).  Enjoy!
